Meet Our Ambassadors

2010-2011

Arquisola

Gil Arquisola
Gil is a senior psychology major/business administration minor from Macon. This is his first year as a Mercer Ambassador. Gil holds several leadership positions on campus through his involvement as a senior senator on SGA, as well as the head of the Contract Services Committee and the current president of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. Gil has also assisted in student research in the Psychology Department as a lab assistant. Gil is a Josiah Penfield Scholar.

Aziz

Betsy Aziz
Betsy is a senior accounting major from Statesboro. This is her second year as a Mercer Ambassador.  Betsy is involved in several organizations on campus, including Beta Gamma Sigma, Phi Eta Sigma, and Peer Advising. She also holds leadership positions in Up ‘til Dawn and Chi Omega. Betsy is a Jesse Mercer Scholar.

 

Stephen Bradshaw
Stephen is a junior Presidential Scholar from Dublin, Georgia, majoring in psychology and minoring in business. Although this is his first year as a Mercer Ambassador, he is involved in many campus organizations including the Student Admissions Team, Mercer Judicial, Reformed University Fellowship, as well as the Student Government Association, where he serves as chair of the campus safety and improvements committee. In addition to the leadership positions held in these organizations, he also helped found “Hoffman’s Hooligans,” which greatly supports the Mercer men’s basketball team.

Bray

Anna Bray
Anna is a senior English and Christianity major from Columbus. This is her second year as a Mercer Ambassador. She is active in Phi Mu, Reformed University Fellowship and the Order of Omega Greek Honor Society. Anna also enjoys her involvement with the new student orientation program as a peer advisor.

Brown

Sarah Brown
Sarah is a junior English major from Stockbridge, and this is her first year as a Mercer Ambassador. She is actively involved in the Mercer Peer Advisor Program, Phi Eta Sigma National Honors Society, and serves on the executive board as a sister in the Psi Gamma Chapter of the Chi Omega Women’s Fraternity. She has also participated in the Mercer on Mission program, serving in both Brazil and South Africa.

Crisp

Alice Crisp
Alice is a senior economics major from Tyrone. This is her first year as a Mercer Ambassador.  Alice has served as a member of the Student Government Association for the past three years, specifically as vice president in 2009-2010. She has also served as a member of the executive board of Alpha Delta Pi as the membership education vice president and the director of standards and ethics; a director of the Student Admissions Team; and an active member in Omicron Delta Kappa and Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Societies.  Alice has been awarded Senator of the Year, the Spright Dowell Leadership Award, and the Papa Joe Hendricks Award for her incredible commitment to leadership at Mercer.

Driver

Christopher Driver
Currently a junior and in his first year as a Mercer Ambassador, Christopher is a political science major from Carrollton. He is an active member of Alpha Tau Omega, serving as the pledge class president, scholarship chair, membership education chair, and treasurer during his membership.  Also, he is a peer advisor and has served as a preceptor for First Year Seminar-Experiential. In addition, Christopher is a member of the Student Admissions Team and Phi Eta Sigma.  Academically, Christopher is a Presidential Scholar, in the Honors Program, and has been on either the President’s or Dean’s List every semester.

 

Sam Gottlieb
Sam is a junior biochemistry and molecular biology major from Atlanta. This is his first year as a Mercer Ambassador. Sam is also the philanthropy chair and recruitment chair for SAE and is involved in the Orthodox Christian Fellowship. He is a presidential scholar and a member of Mercer University School of Medicine’s Guaranteed Admissions Program.

Hardin

Bryant Harden
Bryant is a senior political science major and communication studies minor from Boston, Georgia. This is his second year as a Mercer Ambassador. He is involved in several student organizations, including College Republicans, Campus Outreach and Kappa Sigma Fraternity (serving as vice president for the 2008-2009 academic year, president for the 2009-2010 academic year, and the current alumni chair). Bryant is also a member on the Education Committee for the Thomasville/Thomas County Chamber of Commerce and is vice president of the Mercer Ambassadors.

Hennigan

Stephanie Hennigan
Stephanie is a senior from Shreveport, Louisiana, double majoring in the University Honors Program in sociology and communication studies and minoring in criminal justice. This is her third year as a Mercer Ambassador. She is active in the Chi Omega Fraternity, Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society, Mercer University Peer Advisors and the Student Admissions Team.  She is the president of the Pre-law Society and was named the Alpha Tau Omega Sweetheart.  Stephanie is also the current president of the Mercer Ambassadors.

 

Ashton Hewett
Ashton is sophomore pre-law/communication major from Thomaston. This is her first year as a Mercer Ambassador. Ashton is actively involved in Chi Omega, Phi Eta Sigma, Roteract Club and S.T.O.P. She also volunteers with Up ’til Dawn.

Hickman

Matt Hickman
Matt is junior political science major from St. Simons Island. This is his first year as a Mercer Ambassador. Matt is involved in several student organizations. He is currently serving as President of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, associate chief justice for the Office of Judicial Education, and an SGA junior senator.  He is also a FYS-X preceptor and peer advisor. Matt is a Mercer Service Scholar.

kivi

Christina Kivi
Christina is a sophomore at Mercer pursuing a major in art and a minor in English. Her family lives in New Mexico, so Mercer is definitely a home away from home. This is her first year as a Mercer Ambassador, and she is also involved on campus as a member of Alpha Delta Pi, where she is the panhellenic delegate, and is also a student athlete on the women’s cross country team.  Some of her favorite Mercer experiences so far have been themed days in the cafeteria, Homecoming Week, precepting for First-Year Seminar, and watching Mercer play in the 2010 A-Sun Championship basketball game.

Laura Kivi
Laura is a junior marketing major from Valdosta. This is her second year as a Mercer Ambassador. She is involved in numerous student organizations including Campus Outreach, Phi Eta Sigma, and Order of Omega Greek Honor Society. She is also on the executive boards of Chi Omega Fraternity and Up ‘til Dawn.

Lester

Scotty Lester
Scotty is a junior Spanish major from LaGrange. This is his first year as a Mercer Ambassador.  He is involved with many student organizations ranging from the student admissions team, to the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Scotty holds leadership positions on campus as a peer advisor, the co-student director of the student admissions team, and the rush chair of his fraternity.

 

Carl Lewis
Carl is a senior southern studies and journalism major from Waycross. This is his third year as a Mercer Ambassador. Carl holds a variety of leadership positions in the community and at Mercer.  He is involved in the College Hill Corridor project to revitalize downtown Macon, and he contributes to the Macon Telegraph.  He is also a senator in Mercer’s Student Government Association.

Lin

Felix Lin
Felix is a senior accounting and finance major from Valdosta.  This is his first year as a Mercer Ambassador. Felix is involved in several student organizations including the Student Government Association, Interfraternity Council, and Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. Felix held several leadership positions through his involvement in the Student Government Association and Interfraternity Council.

Locke

Jordan Locke
Jordan is a sophomore accounting and sociology double major from Blackshear. Although this is his first year as a Mercer Ambassador, he has been very involved throughout his time at Mercer.  He has held leadership positions on the Student Government Association and in the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.  He is on the Student Admissions Team, Interfraternal Council, Sophomore Advisory Board, and is a peer advisor. Jordan is a Presidential Scholar and member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honors Society.

Malcom

Joanna Malcom
Joanna is a junior communications major on the pre-Med track from Monroe. This is her first year as Mercer Ambassador, where she serves as secretary. She is involved in Wesley Foundation, Mercer’s Wind Ensemble, and Mercer’s Flute Choir. She is also a member of the Student Admissions Team, Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society, an Intramural Sports Supervisor, and served as marketing associate for the student activities board- Quadworks. She is a Presidential Scholar and a Tift College Scholar.

Matthews

Katie Matthews
Katie is a junior communication and media studies major from Thomaston. This is her second year as a Mercer Ambassador. Katie serves on the executive board of the Chi Omega Women’s fraternity. She is also the co-chair for Quad Works bear brigade. She is a Presidential Scholar and a Tift College Scholar.

Nawrocki

Bianca Nawrocki
Bianca, a junior from Woodstock, is double majoring in communication studies and business/marketing.  Bianca is involved in a multitude of student organizations on campus, and has served on the executive boards of Phi Mu (as provisional member director), Delta Sigma Pi (as senior vice president and as vice president of alumni relations), and the Rotaract Club (as the PR/marketing chair and the secretary). She is also actively involved with Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Society (as vice president of membership), Up ’til Dawn, and Dance Marathon here at Mercer. Serving as student justice for both Mercer’s Judicial System, as well as the Panhellenic Judicial Board assistant, Bianca is also involved in the Pre Law Society and was a peer advisor/orientation leader last fall.  Bianca was named as a Sigma Alpha Epsilon sweetheart and is excited to begin her first year as a Mercer Ambassador.

 

Daniel O’Neal
Daniel is a sophomore biology major on the pre-med track from Hahira. This is his first year as a Mercer Ambassador.  Daniel enjoys being very involved in campus life, participating in the Student Admissions Team, Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, Phi Eta Sigma Academic Honors Society, MerpMed premed club, Beta Beta Beta Biology Honors Society and the Student Government Association (academic affairs chairman). He also serves as a resident assistant.  Daniel is a Jesse Mercer Scholar.

Pavia

Alli Pavia
Alli is a sophomore Spanish major from Alpharetta. This is her first year as Mercer Ambassador. Alli is involved in Alpha Delta Pi sorority and works for the Student Admissions Team. She is a member of Reformed University Fellowship. Alli is a Tift Scholar and a Presidential Scholar.

Pee

Jamel Pee
Jamel is a senior psychology and French major from Savannah. This is his third year as a Mercer Ambassador. He is involved in several organizations, including the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, the Mercer Judicial System, the Student Government Association and the National Black Law Student Association. He is currently the chief justice of the Mercer Judicial System. Jamel is a University Scholar.

Reid

Eric Reid
Eric is a senior mechanical engineering major from Rincon. This is his third year as a Mercer Ambassador. Eric is involved in several student organizations, including Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity (currently serving as president), Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society, and Campus Outreach. He is also employed at Gulfstream Aerospace as an intern. Eric is a Presidential Scholar.

Rieger

Ali Rieger
Ali is a junior business health management major from Columbus. This is her first year as a Mercer Ambassador. She is actively involved in Phi Mu, Mercer’s Board of Appropriations Committee, Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society, Macon Young Life, University Center Bear Force, Mercer Intramural staff, Student Government Association, Rotaract Club and Campus Outreach. Ali holds many leadership positions, serving on the Phi Mu Executive Committee, the Student Government Executive Committee, University Center supervisor, and intramural staff supervisor.

Rogers

Ashley Rogers
Ashley is a senior sociology and criminal justice major from Jenkinsburg. This is her second year as a Mercer Ambassador. Ashley is involved in several student organizations, including Alpha Phi Omega, National Black Law Student Association, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society, and the Organization of Black Students. She holds several leadership positions through her service as president and founder of the Mercer Undergraduate Division of the National Black Law Student Association, the youth representative of the Executive Board of the Tabernacle of Praise Church, and the vice president of the Omega Mu Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. Ashley is a University Scholar.

Shaw

Christina Shaw
Christina is a senior marketing and economics major from Douglasville. This is her first year as a Mercer Ambassador.  She is a member of many organizations at Mercer, including Alpha Delta Pi, Panhellenic Council, the Intramural Program, and Campus Outreach.  She serves as the scholarship chair for Panhellenic and the student director of marketing for Intramurals. She is a Tift Scholar, a member of Phi Eta Sigma, and recipient of the Michelle Cartagena Award.

Stanley

Amry Stanley
Amry is a senior from Augusta. She is an accounting major and is in the Great Books Program.  This is her second year as a Mercer Ambassador.  She is involved in campus life, working as the director of student workers in the admissions office. She is on the executive board of her sorority, Alpha Delta Pi.  In addition, she serves as a peer advisor and a student leader of Campus Outreach Ministries.

Wozny

Jared Wozny
Jared is a sophomore environmental engineering major from Waycross. This is his first year as a Mercer Ambassador. Jared is involved in many organizations on campus, including Campus Outreach, the Special Events Team, Mercer Dance Revolution Club, intramurals, and Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. He holds several leadership positions through Quadworks and Student Government Association. Jared is a Presidential Scholar, honors student and a member of Phi Eta Sigma and Omicron Delta Kappa honor societies.

Wylie

Allison Wylie
Allison is a junior holistic child major from Knoxville, Tennessee.  This is her second year as a Mercer Ambassador. Allison is involved in several student organizations, including Phi Mu Fraternity where she served as both chaplain and the provisional member director; Campus Outreach; the Bear Force; Phi Eta Sigma; Mercer Educators in Action; Dance Marathon; and the Special Events Team. She is a Presidential Scholar and a Tift College Scholar.
