Welcome to the Alumni Association

Mercer has more than 68,000 alumni who live throughout the United States and in more than 70 countries around the world. The Alumni Association is governed by a National Board of Directors and an Alumni Board of Directors for each school or college.

Alumni Award Nominations

Nominate a deserving Alumnus for the Distinguished Alumnus, Meritorious Service or the Thomas Sewell Plunkett Young Alumnus Award to be honored at Homecoming. Nominations are accepted throughout the year. In any given calendar year, nominations received by August 1 are considered for that year’s awards. Those received after August 1 may be considered in subsequent years. Awards are typically presented during Homecoming Weekend activities in the fall of each year.

2013 Alumni Award Winners

A.V. ElliottThis year’s Meritorious Service Award goes to A.V. Elliott, CLA ’56, of Macon, secretary and treasurer of Elliott Machine Shop in Macon, a 100-employee company he founded. The Meritorious Service Award is typically presented to an alumnus/alumna of Mercer University who has demonstrated his/her support of the Alumni Association and the University through his/her contribution of time, talents and financial resources. A Meritorious Service Award may also be given to a non-alumnus/friend of the University who has displayed uncommon loyalty and support to Mercer.

Kevin C. GreenaughThe Distinguished Alumnus Award goes to Dr. Kevin C. GreenaughCLA ’77, of Glenn Dale, Md., the deputy assistant deputy administrator for the Office of Stockpile Management of the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). The Distinguished Alumnus Award is given to an alumnus/alumna of Mercer University who has served his/her profession in an outstanding manner, and in so doing, has brought honor to his/her person and the University. This award is presented for service to humanity and dedication, which have fostered the ideals of Mercer University.

Amy Griswold MartinThe Thomas Sewell Plunkett Young Alumna Award goes to Amy Griswold Martin, EGR ’05, of Marietta, an account manager with Silverpop in Atlanta, a business that specializes in marketing automation and e-mail marketing software. This award is given to an alumnus/alumna of Mercer University who has graduated from the University within the last 10 years and has demonstrated continued support of the Alumni Association and the University through his/her contribution of time, talents and financial resources.
