Mercer Ambassadors

The Mercer Ambassador Program, the University’s first Student Alumni Association, was established in 1983. Its primary purpose, like other volunteer student alumni associations across the United States, is to develop future alumni leadership. The purposes of the Mercer Ambassador Program are to:

  • Develop mutually beneficial relationships with all Mercer University alumni
  • Develop future alumni leadership
  • Interact with and communicate student perspectives to all individuals within the University community as well as local, state, regional and national alumni and friends in business, industry and government
  • Promote goodwill among all the colleges and schools within the University
  • Develop personal and professional spirit among all those with whom the Mercer Ambassadors interact

Mercer Ambassador Activities

  • Serve as volunteers for alumni and University special events
  • Hold general membership meetings, executive and standing committee meetings
  • Speak at various alumni meetings, events and activities
  • Assist the president and the president’s office with special events
  • Conduct tower tours and campus tours
  • Represent Mercer University within the Macon community through volunteerism
